Euwallacea xanthopus (Eichhoff, 1868)

original genus:Xyleborus
notes:The xanthopus of Schedl is a shining example of semirudis; in general, African specimens are shining, whereas most Asian specimens have the elytral declivity partly or entirely dull. However, they probably represent the same species. Dejean 1837: 212 (used xanthopus as a nomen nudum in Bostrochus). Eggers 1920: 124, 1922: 174; Schedl 1962j: 212 (signis Hagedorn, nomen nudum, synonymy). It is probable that Xyleborus semipolitus Schedl is a synonym (SLW).
type locality:Africa (Cap bonnae spei)
type sex:female
type repository notes:Hamburg Museum, lost
notes on type:Type type: Holotype; Type sex: female; Type by: ;
